LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES- OCT 10, 2019…ONCE AGAIN I HAVE TO STATE THAT BILL GRAHAM MIGHT BE THE GREATEST FREAKING GUY IN THE HISTORY OF BAY AREA ROCK. HE INTRODUCED THE EPIC ‘DAY ON THE GREEN’ CONCERT SERIES IN 1973 AND THE CONCERT SERIES CONTINUED UNTIL SHORTLY AFTER HIS DEATH IN 1991. ON OCT 27,1987 ANOTHER ONE OF THE MEGA CONCERTS TOOK PLACE AT THE OAKLAND STADIUM. IT FEATURED MOTLEY CRUE, WHITESNAKE, POISON, AND JETBOY. IT WAS DAY ON THE GREEN # 2 FOR 1987, AND THE PRICE TO GET INTO THIS MEGA-SHOW WAS JUST 20 BUCKS !
