The Greatest Live Album Ever Recorded

Some call it the greatest Live album ever recorded. On this date in 1976, Peter Frampton released the double live album “Frampton Comes Alive!”.
The album was recorded primarily at the Winterland concert venue right here in San Francisco, and the Long Island Arena in Commack, New York. Here’s a treat, Peter Frampton performing “Do You Feel Like We Do” in the summer of 1977 in our own backyard, at the Oakland Coliseum. Maybe you’ll spot yourself or someone you know in the crowd !!

The Doors Released Self-titled Debut Album Today in Music

The Doors is the self-titled debut album by The Doors, released on this date in January 1967. It reached #2 on the Billboard 200 Top LP’s chart. The single, “Light My Fire”, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks in the summer of 1967.

Happy Birthday Led Zeppelin

Today is Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones’ 72nd birthday. Born John Richard Baldwin, he changed his name during his session work days, at the suggestion of a friend who thought he needed something more “artistic”.

Green Day’s 7th Album “American Idiot” was #1 on this Day in Music

On this day in 2005 , the Bay Area’s Green Day was number one with their seventh album ‘American Idiot.’ The album went on to be nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning the Best Rock Album of 2005.
