LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-MARCH 21, 2020…EDDIE MONEY WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1949 SO THAT MEANS TODAY HE WOULD HAVE BEEN 71. ORIGINALLY FROM NEW YORK, MONEY MOVED TO BERKELEY IN THE 70’S TO PURSUE A CAREER IN MUSIC. IN THE LATE 70’S HE SCORED HUGE HITS WITH ‘BABY HOLD ON’ AND ‘TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE’ CONTINUED CHART SUCCESS THOUGH THE MID 1980’S. MONEY STILL TOURS AND RECENTLY DID A GEICO COMMERCIAL AND LAUNCHED THE REALITY TV SERIES “REAL MONEY” BASED ON HIS AND HIS FAMILY’S LIFE. EDDIE PASSED AWAY LAST YEAR ON SEPTEMBER 13TH IN A LOS ANGELES HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF 70. THREE WEEKS EARLIER HE HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 ESOPHAGEAL CANCER.
