KEITH KNUDSEN

LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES- FEB 18, 2020… TODAY KEITH KNUDSEN WOULD HAVE BEEN SIXTY EIGHT YEARS OF AGE. KNUDSEN IS BEST KNOWN AS A DRUMMER, VOCALIST AND SONGWRITER. HE IS ALSO THE FATHER OF DAYNA KEYES, ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PEOPLE ON THE BONE AIRSTAFF. KEITH JOINED THE DOOBIE BROTHERS IN 1974 DURING THE RECORDING OF THE ALBUM ‘WHAT WERE ONCE VICES ARE NOW HABITS.’ HE WAS A DRUMMER WITH THE DOOBIES FROM 1974 UNTIL THEY DISBANDED IN 1982. KNUDSEN IS ALSO CREDITED WITH ORGANIZING THE ONE OFF DOOBIES REUNION IN 1987 TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE “NATIONAL VETERANS FOUNDATION.” HE LATER REJOINED THE DOOBIE BROTHERS ON A FULL TIME BASIS IN 1993. KEITH KNUDSEN DIED OF PNEUMONIA ON FEBRUARY 8, 2005 AT THE AGE OF 56. RIP KEITH KNUDSEN.
