THE STUDIO VERSION OF THE SONG WAS NEVER RELEASED AS A SINGLE. IT WAS RECORDED FOR McCARTNEY’S FIRST SOLO ALBUM AFTER LEAVING THE BEATLES. THE SONG WAS THE FIRST SONG McCARTNEY WROTE IN 1969 AS A TRIBUTE TO HIS WIFE LINDA, WHO HE CREDITS AS GETTING HIM THROUGH A VERY DIFFICULT TIME IN HIS LIFE. A CONCERT VERSION WAS RELEASED AS A SINGLE TO PROMOTE THE TOUR “WINGS OVER AMERICA”
