LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-JAN 17, 2020…ON THIS DATE IN 1972 NEIL YOUNG RELEASED THE SINGLE “HEART OF GOLD.” YOUNG WROTE THE SONG IN 1971 AFTER HE HAD SUFFERED A BACK INJURY WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO PLAY THE ELECTRIC GUITAR, SO ON THE HARVEST ALBUM HE PLAYED ACOUSTIC GUITAR. THIS SONG WAS RECORDED AT THE FIRST SESSIONS FOR THE ‘HARVEST’ ALBUM. A QUICK SONG FACT FOR YOU.
