LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-FEB 22, 2019…PABLO HONEY WAS THE DEBUT ALBUM FROM THE ENGLISH ROCK BAND RADIOHEAD. THE NAME OF THE ALBUM ACTUALLY COMES FROM A PRANK CALL BY THE JERKY BOYS, WHERE THE PRANK CALLER SAYS TO THE VICTIM “PABLO HONEY, PLEASE COME HOME TO FLORIDA!” THE ALBUM CONTAINED ONE OF THE GREATEST ROCK SONGS EVER, ‘CREEP’
WHEN THE SONG WAS FIRST RELEASED, IT WAS ACTUALLY BANNED FROM THE BBC AIRWAVES FOR BEING TOO DEPRESSING. LEAD SINGER THOM YORKE WHO WROTE THE SONG HAS SAID THE SONG IS ABOUT BEING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE AND NOT FEELING GOOD ENOUGH. HE DESCRIBES THE FEELING AS “THERE’S THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, AND THEN THERE’S THE REST OF US.”
HERE’S AN EXTENDED UNCENSORED VERSION OF ‘CREEP’
