THE BIRTHDAY BOY

LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-JULY 29, 2019…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GEDDY LEE. TODAY HE IS OLD ENOUGH TO DRAW A CANADA PENSION CHECK. HE’S 66 !

GEDDY IS THE LEAD VOCALIST, BASS PLAYER, AND KEYBOARDIST FOR THE SUPERGROUP RUSH. THE BAND RECENTLY WRAPPED UP THEIR FAREWELL TOUR AND GEDDY SAID IN AN INTERVIEW ON “TRUNK NATION” HE’S AT PEACE ON THE WAY RUSH ENDED. ACCORDING TO GEDDY NEIL PEART RETIRED AFTER THE GROUP’S LAST SHOW ON AUG 1, 2015:

“He hasn’t just retired from Rush, he’s retired from drumming. He’s not drumming anymore, and he’s living his life. Which is fine. Alex and I are cool with it. We’re all still total pals. In fact, Alex and I were there just a few weeks ago visiting him. … And, of course, Alex lives very near to me, so we’re constantly going out to dinner, ’cause he loves to drink everything in my wine cellar. We’re still pals and we all talk, but that period of our life is done.”

HAPPY 66TH BIRTHDAY GEDDY, YOU AND THE BOYS ENJOY RETIREMENT !
