LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-JAN 18, 2020…TODAY MARKS 4 YEARS SINCE THE DEATH OF THE EAGLE’S GLENN FREY. GLENN FREY, ALONG WITH DON HENLEY, WAS ONE OF THE FOUNDERS AND DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE EAGLES. FREY GREW UP IN DETROIT, AND ONE OF HIS FIRST BREAKS WAS AT THE AGE OF 19 PLAYED ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND HANDLED BACKGROUND VOCALS FOR BOB SEGER ON ‘RAMBLIN’ GAMBLIN’ MAN’. AFTER THE EAGLES HIT IT BIG IN THE 70’S, FREY LIVED IN THE FAST LANE, BUT TOOK UP THE FITNESS HABIT IN THE LATE 80’S AND GOT HIMSELF INTO SERIOUS SHAPE. HE BECAME A PITCHMAN FOR JACK LALANNE FITNESS CENTERS AND APPEARED IN A PRINT AD FOR THE HEALTH CLUB. HERE’S A PICTURE THAT WAS USED IN THE AD.
