LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-JUNE 3, 2019…IN THE WTF FILE, ON THIS DATE IN 1983, JIM GORDON, THE DRUMMER FOR DEREK AND THE DOMINOS AND CO-WRITER OF ‘LAYLA’, WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON. JIM MURDERED HIS OWN MOTHER WITH A HAMMER AND KNIFE IN THEIR HOME. TOLD YOU…WTF !!! THE GRAMMY AWARD WINNING DRUMMER IS CURRENTLY SERVING HIS SENTENCE IN VACAVILLE. HE’S BEEN TURNED DOWN FOR PAROLE 10 TIMES, INCLUDING THE LAST DENIAL IN 2018 WHEN HIS FAMILY FOR THE 1ST TIME TESTIFIED AGAINST HIS RELEASE, FEARINGA RISK OF POSSIBLE VIOLENCE
