“THE POLICE” Filmed A TV Commercial For Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum
Okay, here’s a weird one for you. On this day in 1978, The band “THE POLICE” filmed a TV commercial for Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum. Wrigley’s asked the band to die their hair blonde to look more “punk rock”. The bandliked to look, kept it as their signature style.
Here’s the band before the dye job, when they were all brunettes !!
Now here’s the weird thing….the commercial NEVER AIRED!

Born on this day, David Geffen, Geffen record label boss. Founder of Asylum records who signed The Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon and Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell. Formed Dreamworks in 1995.

Hey everyone, we are happy to report that Zakk’s motorcycle has been found. Thank you to Capt. Gaetano Caltagirone, Sgt. Jeff Alouise, Officers Dan Dudley, Justin Rice and Pat Cummings from the San Francisco Police Department’s Mission Station for finding the thief and arresting him. Also, thank you to our loyal listeners who shared and spread the word from our original post about Zakk’s bike being stolen. Zakk and everyone from 107.7 The Bone appreciate the support.
