WATCH BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEOS OF THE WHO REHEARSING

This week The Who will begin their Moving On! tour, which includes a stop in the Bay Area to perform at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco on Wednesday, October 9th.

To get everyone amped up for the upcoming tour, The Who posted a couple behind the scenes videos from their rehearsals on their YouTube page.

The videos were made by The Who’s keyboard technician, Brian Kehew. The first first video, as seen below, shows The Who practicing “The Punk and the Godfather,” “5:15” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”

The second video below shows conductor Keith Levenson leading an orchestra (that will go on tour with the band to play select songs) through a few more songs, including “Love Reign O’er Me,” “Baba O’Riley” and the “Helpless Dancer” which was the theme from “The Rock.”

Brian Kehew also hinted in a blog post that “Eminence Front” and “Behind Blue Eyes” will be performed.

Recently, Roger Daltrey talked about the upcoming tour and said the overall presentation will be scaled back, with the video cameras focusing more on the musicians rather than the “bouncing pinballs, spinning cards, swimming sharks or ’60s miniskirts” seen during past tours.

Roger Daltrey also said in regards to the stage, will include “some elegant things to bring out moods, and it’s beyond what this band has had in the past. It will look cooler and more interesting visually, without losing exactly what is good about the band.”

NIKKI SIXX SHARES POST SHOULDER SURGERY PHOTO

Recently, Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx announced he had undergone shoulder surgery to repair a serious injury he suffered while onstage. Nikki Sixx added that this was his fourth major surgery due to his onstage antics.

Nikki Sixx made the announcement about his shoulder surgery by sharing a photo of himself post operation on his Instagram page. In the same post, Nikki Sixx lists off all the surgeries he has gone through over the years.

Very interesting last quote Nikki Sixx used in his post “Excited to heal up. Health is everything. Ready to get onstage and break stuff.” I’m curious what kind of onstage plans does Nikki Sixx has lined up in the future?

LET IT BE

LAMONT’S MUSIC NOTES-MAY 8, 2019…ON THIS DATE 49 YEARS AGO IT WAS THE END OF AN ERA FOR THE BEATLES, WITH THE RELEASE OF THEIR FINAL STUDIO ALBUM ‘LET IT BE’.

THE ALBUM WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO BE CALLED ‘GET BACK’ AND IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE GROUP’S FINAL ALBUM. THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT FOR THE ‘GET BACK ALBUM’ WAS THE BAND WAS GOING TO RECORD IT IN FRONT OF A LIVE TV AUDIENCE, WITH ANOTHER TV SPECIAL SHOWING THE GROUP PRACTICING THE SONGS IN A STUDIO. IT WAS GOING TO BE THE BEATLES GETTING BACK TO THEIR ROOTS PLAYING LIVE MUSIC INSTEAD OF BUSTING THEIR BALLS IN THE STUDIO LIKE THEY DID ON ‘THE WHITE ALBUM’.

HOWEVER SOMETHING WENT HORRIBLY WRONG. WHEN THEY WERE PUTTING THE ALBUM TOGETHER, GEORGE HARRISON WALKED OUT OF THE SESSIONS.

WHEN HE RETURNED, THEY DROPPED THE LIVE ANGLE, AND DECIDED TO USE THE TV FOOTAGE AS THEIR LAST MOVIE. WHILE THE MOVIE WAS BEING EDITED, THE BEATLES RECORDED AND RELEASE ‘ABBEY ROAD’, AND THEN THEY BROKE UP !!

WHAT TO DO , THEY STILL HAD THIS ALBUM, AND EVENTUALLY PHIL SPECTOR WAS GIVEN THE TAPES AND ASKED TO PRODUCE THE ALBUM.

THE ALBUM WAS RELEASE MONTHS AFTER THE BEATLES BROKE UP, AND IT WAS DECIDED ‘LET IT BE’ WAS A MORE APPROPRIATE NAME FOR THE RECORD THAT ‘GET BACK’. AT THE TIME OF ITS RELEASE, THE ALBUM ‘LET IT BE’ HAD THE LARGEST INITIAL SALES IN U.S. RECORD HISTORY WITH 3.7 MILLION ADVANCE ORDERS.

HERE’S THE GROUP WORKING ON ‘LET IT BE’ IN THE STUDIO
