CARDI B MISTAKENLY THANKS THE LATE TOM PETTY FOR THE CONGRATULATORY GRAMMY FLOWERS

Cardi B…e caught up in the moment! After winning Best Rap Album at the Grammy’s this past Sunday, the Bronx rapper thanks the late Tom Petty in an Instragram Story for the congratulatory bouquet saying:

“Thank you Tom Petty for the flowers  / I left the room but, um, and / the flowers were very big / I want to say thank you so much and this is such a beautiful note / Motherfuckers love me, bro.”

Despite not knowing that he has passed back in 2017, the mix up happened when Cardi read the note saying “You’ve got a heart so big it could crush this town” from Petty’s 1996 song “Walls (Circus).”  At least he had the curiosity to thank him.

GUNS N’ ROSES PLAN TO DO MORE RECORDING SOON

Thank you to the best Jimmy O’Sheehan for the photo of Slash.

Guns N’ Roses have been unclear if they plan on recording new material now that Slash and Duff McKagan have returned to the band for their hugely successful reunion tour. However, guitarist Richard Fortus confirmed in a new interview that Guns N’ Roses have plans to go back into the studio, possibly as soon as next month.

Richard Fortus told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch “Slash is on tour right now. Once he gets back from that, we’re gonna get some more recording done and hopefully get an album out soon. And then we’ll get back to touring.”

According to Slash’s calendar on his website, he will return from Europe in mid-March and go out on the road again in May. After that, Slash won’t have a significant stretch of time off until mid-August.

Shortly after the conclusion of the “Not In This Lifetime” tour, Fortus said, “We’re going to try… try and do another record, get it out soon.” he said, “I think it’ll happen faster than you think. I sure hope it happens faster than you think.”

Back in 2017, Richard Fortus admitted that they had done some recording — “just ideas, assembling ideas, but not going into a studio and actually tracking a new record.”

Other than that, Guns N’ Roses haven’t been clear about their future plans. At December’s final tour date, Axl Rose told the audience in Honolulu that “we hope to keep this thing running, so we’ll see what happens next.” That’s on par an interview Axl Rose gave last July where he said, “Right now our focus is on touring and the shows but everyone seems to be getting along so you never know.”

Soon after, Guns N’ Roses denied that they recorded a cover of T. Rex’s “Children of the Revolution” for a tribute album.

MOTLEY CRUE RECORDING NEW SONG WITH “THE DIRT” STAR MACHINE GUN KELLY

Motley Crue is collaborating with rapper Machine Gun Kelly for a new song.

Motley Crue Bassist Nikki Sixx confirmed the news in a Tweet, writing that the track is “coming really soon.”

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly will star as drummer Tommy Lee in the upcoming Motley Crue biopic “The Dirt,” which is based on the band’s 2001 autobiography of the same name, which told the story of Motley Crue’s debauchery-filled rise during the ’80s rock scene on the Sunset Strip.

The Machine Gun Kelly collaboration is one of several new songs Motley Crue is recording for “The Dirt,” which premieres March 22nd on Netflix.

The film also stars Douglas Booth as Nikki Sixx, Daniel Webber as Vince Neil and Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars.

FORMER AC/DC BASSIST CLIFF WILLIAMS MAY BE BACK IN THE BAND

At the end of AC/DC‘s “Rock or Bust” tour in 2016, it appeared Angus Young was the only longterm member of the classic lineup to be left in the band. However, through various photos and social media posts, it looks like all four surviving members of the long-running lineup featuring Brian Johnson (vocals), Angus Young (guitars), Cliff Williams (bass), and Phil Rudd (drums) of AC/DC may be back together.

Despite from Phil Rudd leaving the band from 1983 to 1994, that lineup stayed together until 2014. Unfortunately, it was around that time when Malcolm Young’s health started to deteriorate (Malcolm passed away in 2017). Also, in late 2014 Phil Rudd found himself in serious legal trouble. In 2016, Brian Johnson was forced to leave AC/DC in order to prevent complete hearing loss and was replaced by Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose for the remainder of the band’s tour. Plus, Cliff Williams announced his retirement from the band at the conclusion of the “Rock or Bust” tour.

Jumping ahead to last summer, photos surfaced online of Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd standing outside a Vancouver studio where Angus and his nephew Stevie Young (who replaced Malcolm) were also seen. This is also the same studio where AC/DC had recorded albums in the past. Recently, the metal band Terrorizer reported they ran into Brian Johnson, who allegedly told them he’s “sick of denying he’s back in AC/DC.”

Now, a new photo with Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams working out with a trainer at a Vancouver hotel gym back in December 2018 has surfaced via Instagram, stirring up fans to speculate that Cliff Williams is back in the band as well.

At the time of the article being posted, the photo in question has been deleted from Instagram.

In 2016, when Cliff Williams announced his initial retirement, he explained, “I’m ready to get off the road and do what I do in between tours.” But he also added, “Losing Malcolm, the thing with Phil and now with Brian, it’s a changed animal. I feel in my gut it’s the right thing.”

Maybe with Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd apparently back in the band, Cliff Williams had a change of heart. Please keep in mind that none of these members have officially confirmed their return to AC/DC. So while it all looks encouraging and we can guess what the band might be up to, we’re still awaiting a formal announcement from AC/DC concerning the lineup and future.
