Happy Birthday James Brown

James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, was born on this day in 1933. Today would have been his 85th birthday. James Brown died December 5, 2006. The saddest aspect of Brown’s death was it took 76 days to actually bury his body, his body was dismembered as part of a paternity dispute, AND his body was relocated 14 times because of family in-fighting.

Here’s James Brown from an appearance he made on the Midnight Special.

David Akers roasts the Dallas Cowboys at the 2018 NFL Draft

The 2018 NFL Draft came and went this past weekend and former NFL kicker David Akers embraced his opportunity to be like a professional wrestler and turn heel Friday night.

Akers appeared on stage during the second round of the 2018 NFL draft as the Philadelphia Eagles guest picker (FYI, he spent the majority of his career with the Eagles). Akers brought the heat as he spoke the Dallas Cowboys fans inside AT&T Stadium before announcing the Eagles’ pick at No. 49 overall.

Akers opened up by saying “What’s up, Dallas?” “We heard you in Philly last year. I like standing up here before you as an undrafted free agent, representing that shield for 15 years. Tonight, I’m representing the Philadelphia Eagles, NFC East champs. Divisional champs. NFC champs. And world champs! The world champs!”

“Hey Dallas, the last time you won the Super Bowl, these draft picks weren’t born.”

After that Akers announced South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert as the Eagles’ pick.

Looks like Akers got payback following Drew Pearson’s trolling last year when the NFL Draft was held in Philadelphia, it’s safe to say the two sides are even now.

Guy embarrassingly rejected and put in the friend zone on Let’s Make A Deal

Being placed in the friend zone is always awkward, but doing so on National TV? Extremely awkward.

Last week on the prom-themed episode of “Let’s Make A Deal,” a couple, or so we thought they were a not couple, were on stage talking to host Wayne Brady.

Wayne Brady asked the couple how long they have been together.

The guy said, “About six months,” to which the girl responded, “We’re just friends. We’re just friends and he wants — ” The guy quickly cut her off by saying “Can we not talk about this in front of everybody?”

The girl continued to laugh during the awkward silence from Wayne Brady and the audience, as the guy added, “It’s complicated.”

But the girl was quick to correct him once again and said, “I’m single, guys, I’m single,” shutting down the guy on national TV.

The poor guy seemed just as confused as the audience and said “What?” to her “I’m single” comment. At this point the guy was obviously embarrassed, the girl then tried to comfort her “friend” and said again, “Aw no, we’re really good friends.”

Clearly not the answer he wanted to hear in front of everybody.
